My much larger wooden bokken and wooden fan are accepted at AN, but paddles aren't? oh well. Don't let people get away with it, as they will most likely keep doing it, and contribute to something being done that no one will like (like weapons/props being banned outright, regardless of what they are). Also, if you are hit with something, and don't like it, be sure to tell the offender that. It may turn out it was for a photo or something, but better safe then sorry (hopefully the spec-ops person understands if it was for a photo-op and not just done for the hell of it). If you ever see anyone hitting someone with a yaoi paddle (or any other weapon/prop) don't hestiate to find the nearest spec-op and point the person out. I do know that they are treated like weapons/props, and have to be brought through weapons check like any other weapon/prop. This is not to say that they aren't banned, but it hasn't been posted that they are. On the Subject of Yaoi Paddles: I didn't find anything in the rules (or the weapons section) about Yaoi Paddles being banned. <- that is from the Anime North Website, in the rules section. Doing so may result in badge confiscation and the attendee having to leave the convention. These items are for sale under strict guidelines – namely once sold they are provided to the customer in a sealed box which is not to be opened or the weapon displayed in general convention areas. On the Subject of weapons: Note that Weapons/Props with metal blades may be for sale in the Dealer’s Room.
